BLACK X BLACK

DPP_0114

Evening my loves! Just a very quick post today continuing with part deux of my ‘LFW x F21′ series. Today I’m styling up some staple pieces that are essential to your wardrobes at any point through the year..

You can never go wrong with black on black.. at least that’s how I feel. For my second Forever 21 look from their LFW capsule collection, I wanted to put together an outfit that would be considered fashionable no matter what the current trends or fads in the industry and you can’t go wrong with an all black ensemble can you? Black is always the new black after all. I opted for a flattering silhouette in a pair of pleated high waisted wide leg trousers and a long halter neck top that I tucked in. I am so in love with both the trousers and the top! The long length of the top makes it perfect to wear with jeans, trousers or even over shorts! The trousers were great for me as being 5’3, it’s difficult to find wide legged trousers that don’t drag on the floor behind you but these were a perfect length and a really flattering fit. I accessorized with a cross body bag and this GORGEOUS turquoise necklace from Happiness Boutique. The combination of yellow and turquoise look great together and were ideal for adding some colour to my outfit. Any one else notice how much turquoise we saw on the runways at Fashion Week? Work that turq!! Finally, I slipped on a fabulous pair of strappy platform heels with a cleated sole that added some height to give me the illusion of longer legs and they were so comfortable to match.. perfect for running between shows at LFW!

You may have noticed that I’ve keeping my hair slicked back recently.. it’s gotten so long and is in desperate need of a cut so I’m keeping it out of the way until I figure out what I want my next hairstyle to be.. any tips?

Hope you guys are having a good week so far.. thanks for reading!

Until the next post!

LFW x F21

AW4A00112-001I may have skipped Fashion Week this season but that doesn’t mean I have to miss out on all the fun – I headed into Forever 21’s flagship store on Oxford Street on Friday to check out their LFW capsule collection, Le Sport Chic.

Inspired by the runway, the collection offers a selection fashion forward pieces without the high end price tags. There’s some great varsity inspired pieces in there, complete with sporting stripes and abstract shapes. F21 have definitely beaten the rest of the high street by dishing up some of what we saw on the catwalks at NYFW – now that’s what you call fast fashion.

I loved the whole collection, but this uber chic collared jumpsuit really stood out to me. I teamed it with a pair of white faux leather mules and layered cord statement necklace that I actually wore backwards – I just loved the gold clasp at the back and thought it would be perfect to add a little colour to my all white ensemble.

I draped a collarless white duster jacket on top and added some gold midi rings and cuff to accessorize.

Keep an eye out for another look from their LFW collection on the blog in the next couple of days but for now, you can peruse the entire collection here.

Thanks for reading my loves.. until the next post!

Duck & Dry

DPP_0012A few days ago, I ‘ducked’ into the hippest new blow dry bar in town – Duck & Dry. Located in the heart of London’s most coveted postcode, D&D offers more than just the best blow dry in London – it’s about the overall experience they go out of their way to provide their clients.

Walking in, the first thing that stood out to me was the unique and beautifully decorated space smack bang in the middle of King’s Road, with it’s modern and inviting interior and lots of attention to detail.

The idea behind Duck and Dry was to provide an accessible everyday hair styling solution at an affordable price and it certainly does achieve that. I love that they really focus on providing an overall experience that is so much more than just the hair do. All around me, clients in chairs with a glass of champers in their hand and their stylists were laughing and chatting away. It’s the social aspect that D&D bring to their service that really makes it stand out above the rest. It’s the perfect spot to head to with your mum for a pamper session or a group of girlfriends before a big night out – cocktails and catchup’s while you get your hair did, sounds pretty good no?

Browsing through their beautiful leather bound list of services, I was amazed at how affordable they were – for £28 you get a hair wash and one of their 8 signature blow dry’s or an updo for £35, all while in the capable hands of their senior stylists. You could also opt for a hair treatment or a trim before your do too, pretty much a one stop shop for your locks! A selection of drinks and nibbles are also available at their bar whether it’s prosecco you fancy, a caffeine pick me up or some popcorn!

I met my stylist for the day, Kirsty O’Brien and decided to opt for the high tide waves. Kirsty washed my hair with some of D&D’s hand picked products and I pretty much fell asleep during the shampoo because oh my god, it was amazing. Magic hands Kirsty!

I always find it awkward making small talk but Kirsty was soo easy to talk to – her infectious laugh and super friendly manner had me chatting away non stop. Poor Kirsty, not only did she have to deal with my endless mop of hair but my terrible jokes too but she handled both like a pro :) After Kirsty blow dried my hair straight, I could already see the difference in my hair with the products she had used to wash it – it was shinier and softer to the touch. She then proceeded to style it and I was completely in love with the finished product. You guys know how much I love big hair and it certainly had that va va voom factor going on – and the  best bit? Here I am 3 days later and my hair still looks pretty damn good. Thank you to Kirsty and Fatima and everyone who made my trip to Duck & Dry so fabulous..

Make sure you Duck in the next time you’re in the area, whether it’s to get your hair did or to check out one of their awesome pop up events..

Some of you may know that I have been gearing up to make the move over to YouTube recently.. I’m not sure what it is that’s been holding me back – feeling like I’m not quite ready, my hectic schedule or fear of failure but whatever it is, I have been practicing my editing skills with little instagram video’s lately and thanks so much for all the great feedback! Here’s the 15 sec BTS clip from my time at Duck & Dry..

Thanks for reading my lovelies.. until the next post!

Working Title

It’s strange how sometimes the simplest of outfits can make you feel at your best. I’m not sure whether it’s been the recent growth in support I’ve had for this blog or the fact that I’ve had some sort of fashion epiphany, but lately I’ve found feeling really happy and comfortable in whatever I wear, even if it is the most basic of ensembles..

DPP_019f0DPP_0259DPP_0149-001DPP_0253DPP_018f0DPP_0221DPP_0231DPP_0249

So as most of you have seen on here and on my instagram feed, ever seen I purchased these Nike Air Force 1‘s, I’ve practically been living in them. They are so damn comfortable and with the last few days genuinely consisting of me running from one meeting to another all over London, they have been such a life saver!

This outfit for me, is a perfect example of casual chic. I teamed up a well fitted pair of jeans with a simple oversized shirt which I tucked in and draped a charcoal duster coat on top. I tied my hair up into a high ponytail and then backcombed it o add a little bit more volume to the hair do. To accessorise, I kept it really simple with a pair of classic Ray Ban aviators and of course, my trusty trainers to finish the look. If you wanted to go for a classier look, you could always swap the nikes for a pair of pointed flats or brogues.

Like I said, a really simple outfit but I have to say, I felt so good wearing it – I always say it’s so important to feel comfortable in what you’re wearing as it really makes a difference to how you carry yourself.

Hope you guys are having a fab week so far – I’ve been busy shooting lots of new content and teaming up with new brands on different projects so I’m excited to bring you some really cool stuff over the next few weeks!

Thank you for reading my lovelies.. until the next post!
