Good evening all.. it’s that time of the week again.. TBT!
With “trends” I find that as years go on, they tend to repeat themselves more and more, the gap between each reoccurring trend becoming less and less. Some may say that it is indicitive of the lack of originality within the industry these days but it does have it’s upsides. The silver lining to this, ladies, is that we can raid our wardrobes for items bought merely a few seasons back that fit within the jurisdiction of being highly “current” and “on trend”.
I bought the dress above from Primark mid 2012. At a mere £16, the bold tribal print with a hint of neon immediately caught my eye and when I wore it out later that night.. It did not disappoint. Pairing the dress with a statement necklace, an array of bangles (Both were also Primark) and my $25 bargain booties from Charlotte Russe resulted in an outfit that demanded attention – and all under £50!
Since this season Monochrome and Neon are again key trends, I thought I’d try to recreate the look with items available in stores at the moment..
There’s a lot of “Midi Length” aztec print dresses in stores at the moment but due to my height (or more specifically.. lack of), I’d prefer something a little shorter to atleast give me the illusion of not being stub sized (Alternatively, you can find a longer version here). I paired it with a statement neon necklace also from New Look and an Electric blue twist bracelet for an additional splash of colour.
Now.. I searched high and low for the right kind of shoes.. and I must say that I am pretty dissapointed with what high street stores currently have to offer.. So if you’re willing to splash the cash a bit.. get ready to have a shoegasm!
Aren’t they a sight for sore eyes? Maybe not exactly within the 50 quid mark but these shoes would carry the entire outfit and nothing on the high street could even come close..
Anyway, that’s enough of me drooling over those puppies. Hope you enjoyed my post tonight lovelies!
Thanks for reading.. Until the next post!
